Can you collect unemployment if you quit?

Document everything before you leave if you are contemplating a good-cause resignation, including written complaints to HR and the employer's responses, because a contemporaneous record is what supports the claim. If denied, appeal, since appeal success rates are meaningful and the process typically involves a hearing where you can present evidence. Note also that severance pay can delay or offset benefits in some states depending on how it is characterized and paid, and that refusing suitable work while collecting can end eligibility.
